Profile

I am an experimental physicist in the Magnetism Research Group which is part of the DCMP. I joined the group in 2011 following doctoral work in Physics at the Max Planck Institute of the Chemical Physics of Solids and TU Dresden (Prof. Frank Steglich), and a postdoctoral position at ISSP of the University of Tokyo (Prof. T. Sakakibara), and assistant position at IFP of TU Vienna (Prof. S. Bühler-Paschen).

My primary research is on strongly correlated electron systems with a focus on so-called Heavy Fermion compounds. Competing electron-electron interactions in these materials lead to a plethora of novel quantum phases of matter including unconventional types of superconductivity, non-Fermi liquid behavior and topological phases. My experimental expertise is in measuring the electrical transport, magnetic and thermal properties of single crystals of dense Kondo lattices at low temperatures and high magnetic fields.
