Summer Student Programme (Member and Non-Member States)

Students who apply to our programmes should have completed at least 3 years of their studies and should either still be enrolled in summer or not graduate before May 2019. Represented fields are: Physics, Information Technology and Engineering (Civil Engineering; Controls and Data Acquisition; Electricity; Electromechanics; Electronics; Health, Safety & Environment; Materials Science & Surface Engineering; Mechanics).

The students can choose to stay between 8 and 13 weeks (June/July – August/September) and will get a subsisitence of 90 CHF/day and health insurance coverage.

The deadline for application for the 2019 Summer Student Programme is 31st January 2019

Please note that CERN also offers full-time paid internships (4-12 months) within the „Technical Student Programme“ where the students get a chance to work on interesting projects (some project proposals can be found at the following link. It is also possible for students to complete their final project at CERN, such as their bachelor or master theses. Students who apply to the technical student programme should have completed at least 18 months of their undergraduate studies and need to remain registered as a full-time student during the whole period of their internship.
