The most common of all student mobility programmes is the Erasmus+ Programme. It enables students to gain international experience through study stays at universities abroad, or through pursuing internships within and outside partner universities and affiliated institutions. Basic information about the Erasmus+ Programme can be found at Charles University website.
Online registration has been launched for all students interested in exchanges in the academic year 2017/2018. Selection procedures will take place in April 2017. Applications must be submitted to departmental coordinators by April 18, 2017. Detailed information on current offers can be found here.
All students enrolled in accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree programmes at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics are eligible for study stays under the Erasmus+ Programme, provided that they remain enrolled as students of Charles University for the whole period of their study or placement abroad. Students can apply for study stays at all universities that have valid Erasmus+ links with the Faculty, with the exception of other universities within the Czech Republic or in every student’s country of residence. Total length of the stay can range from 3 to 12 months. Students can apply for study stays and/or placements repeatedly, and are eligible for the maximum of 12 months at each stage of their studies (BA, MA, PhD) with the possibility of combining the activities.

Another activity supported by the Erasmus+ Programme is practical training abroad. The priority of Charles University is to facilitate student placements at partner universities or their affiliated institutions, such as laboratories, research centres, teaching schools, teaching hospitals or other workplaces. However, since the actual benefits of practical training for theoretical subjects can be limited, these internships are rather infrequent among our students. Placements are available to all undergraduate and graduate students and their total length can range from 2 to 12 months (minimum length is 60 days). More information about practical training can be found at Charles University website.
Academic staff can also participate in the Erasmus+ Programme. This type of exchange is practicable on the basis of valid bilateral agreements and includes teaching stays at academic institutions abroad, as well as teaching stays of incoming academic staff from partner institutions invited to teach at Charles University. More information about staff mobility and related administrative procedures can be found at Charles University website.
