I am an experimental condensed-matter physicist and university lecturer specialising in neutron scattering and the preparation and characterisation of single-crystal materials.
My research focuses on rare-earth oxides of the A2B2O7 type, which host geometrically frustrated three-dimensional lattices and exhibit complex magnetic, structural, and electronic properties driven by electronic correlations and strong spin–orbit coupling.
In parallel with research, I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in scattering techniques and magnetic structure determination, including laboratory and practical classes, and I supervise bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students.
I am actively involved in the development of the neutron-scattering community, serving as the Scientific Member Representative of the Czech Republic at the Institut Laue-Langevin (Grenoble) and as Vice-Chair of the Czech Neutron Association.
