Basic Programming Course, Micro-credential Program

Students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University can obtain a micro-credential (MC) for successfully completing the three courses listed below:

  • NPRG030 Programming 1
  • NPRG062 Introduction to Algorithms
  • NPRG031 Programming 2

The MC serves as a formal certificate of competence in the subject area. It is a digitally verifiable record that can be shared (e.g., when applying for a job or further study). Obtaining the MC is voluntary and subject to a fee. For general information on micro-credentials, please visit the website of the Charles University Centre for Lifelong Learning.

Fee

A reduced administrative fee of CZK 110 applies only if you are a enrolled student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (MFF) and are completing the required courses as part of your degree program. You may only register for the course after enrolling in the listed subjects.

Conditions for Obtaining the Basic Programming Course MC

  • Successful completion of the listed courses
    • Applies only to completion after the accreditation of the MC program (i.e., in academic year 2024/25 or later)
    • The certificate can only be issued after the end of the academic year in which the final requirement was fulfilled
  • Registration in the micro-credential course Fundamentals of Programming
    • You may register only after you have enrolled in the relevant courses as part of your regular MFF studies
    • You may register for the program up to 5 years after completing the required courses
  • Payment of the administrative fee

Applications

  • Submit electronically via the faculty website in the section Lifelong Learning (CŽV)
  • The application period runs at the end of the academic year, from June to September (30 May – 30 September 2025)

Certificates

  • Certificates will be issued collectively after the close of the application period and conclusion of the academic year (October)
  • The certificate is a digital record; recipients will receive a link from which they can print the document
