A total of 68 doctoral candidates took part in the competition, nominated by their universities or research institutes based on the quality of their scientific papers. The results were decided by 7 committees composed of 43 Czech and French professors and scientists. 24 candidates got awarded.

In the category of nuclear research (The Henri Becquerel Prize), third place went to Denisa Kubániová of CUNI MFF for her work on Magnetic Nanoparticles of Iron Oxides for Medicine. The award-winning PhD student works in the Laboratory of Mössbauer Spectroscopy at CUNI MFF's Department of Low-Temperature Physics, where she researches the development and use of magnetic nanoparticles for medical applications.

The second bronze went to Zuzana Procházková in the Environment and Climate Research category (Make Our Planet Great Again Prize) for her work Revisiting Influence of Internal Gravity Waves on the Atmosphere Based on Their Resolved Effects. Zuzana Procházková is a PhD student at CUNI MFF's Department of Atmospheric Physics, and she focuses on researching the influence of internal gravitational waves on atmospheric processes.

The French Embassy in the Czech Republic has been supporting promising young scientists through scientific prizes since 1994. The winners in each category received financial rewards from partner organisations, while the winners of the first and second prizes also received a scholarship for a month-long research stay in a French laboratory of their choice.

Congratulations to the award-winning students.
