Daniel Matteoni

  • About Daniel: Daniel studied computer science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, and got his MBA at the University of Business and Management in Prague. He has experience with software development in IT (Adastra, Logica, DHL IT Services) and in financial companies (Commerzbank and Česká pojišťovna insurance company). Since 2018, he has worked at Barclays as a Vice President - Development Team Lead. Daniel has more than 10 years of experience with agile methods development (Scrum).

Tomáš Němeček

  • About Tomáš: Tomáš studied financial and insurance mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, then continued to study statistics, game theory and economics at Humboldt University in Berlin. For 8 years, he has worked as a chief analyst for a consulting company focusing on finance and risk management. In 2011, he started working at EY and currently acts as an Associate Partner in the Financial Services Risk Management Department. His team concentrates on credit and operation risk modelling and related regulatory questions.

Ladislav Novák

  • About Ladislav : Ladislav is a CTO at Jablotron Alarms. He studied computer science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University. During his study, he worked as a developer, an analyst, and a database expert. After graduating, he got the opportunity to establish an IT group operating in a small holding of companies, which consecutively would be able to find a company providing custom product development. Through his work, he met interesting people, who helped him “migrate” to his present company. Currently, he is directing software development (IoT projects), maintenance, and support. Recently, he has been named the head of the Agile approach implementation (SCRUM).

Petr Novák

  • About Petr: Petr studied software systems at our faculty, afterwards worked in a company producing NVR (Network Video Recorders) for IP cameras. In 2015, he went to Seznam.cz to work on its compasion shopping website Zbozi.cz. Now he works as Development Lead of Services Division, which includes popular sites like Seznam E-mail or Mapy.cz. He likes Linux, Python and agile development.

Boris Perušič

  • About Boris: Boris, currently the director of the Czech branch of the Alteryx company, studied computer science and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, and got his MBA in financial management at Open University (UK). He worked in IT and finance for large corporations (KB, Nestlé), as well as large consulting companies (Accenture, IBM, PwC). When he was 40 years old, he founded his own company, Datlowe. He has now left the company and dedicates his energy to Alteryx.

Marie Píchová

  • About Marie: Marie studied computer science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, and spent a semester at the University of Melbourne. Currently, she is working with .NET Team and network Team in Prague. The most important thing for her, as she claims, is to enjoy her work and focus on what is interesting for her. What does not change, is her preference for C# and .NET. Together you may discuss networking, high performance, and clean design. She doesn’t really care for front-end and UI. Generally, she can help with technical skills, specialization in different fields, choosing the topic for your thesis, the process of writing the thesis, teamwork, soft skills, and open-source projects work.

Dušan Přecechtěl

  • About Dušan: Dušan studied financial and insurance mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, and finance at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at the University of Business and Economics in Prague. He worked as a portfolio manager in an international investment company responsible for directing financial activities and risk assessment for institutional clients in the CEE region. In 2014, he came to EY, where he now works as a senior manager in the Financial Services Risk Management department as a part of a team specializing in credit and operation risk, modelling and related regulatory questions.

Vítězslav Šmíd

  • About Vítězslav: Vítězslav is the co-founder and the CTO of Quantlane, where he acts in charge of platform development for quantitative trade on financial markets. He studied financial mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, and worked as a freelance programmer in his spare time. Thanks to his long term independent study, he was able to remotely work for foreign clients, while spending time travelling around the USA, Australia and Asia. He does not enjoy the slow corporate world and likes working in agile teams. His success comes not only from his well-developed technical skills, but primarily from good communication with clients and his understanding of their business and culture. In Quantlane, Vítězslav usually works on analysis and proposals and implementation of complex systems, which process large volumes of data real-time.
