Scientific interests

I specialise in experimental condensed matter physics, with a focus on strongly correlated systems, antiferromagnetic compounds such as altermagnetic MnTe, and, more recently, van der Waals materials—specifically misfit layer compounds.

My research involves crystal growth and bulk characterisation techniques. In addition to crystal growth and XRD analysis, I have hands-on experience with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB) milling, electron-beam lithography, and low-temperature magnetic force microscopy, where I serve as the principal operator.

Work experience

  • 2013 – present: assistant professor/scientist at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics (DCMP), Charles University, Prague
  • 2011– 2013: Leiden Institute of Physics, Leiden University, the Netherlands, postdoctoral stay
