302. Department of Mathematics Education
The Department of Mathematics Education is responsible for classes of mathematics and descriptive geometry for students of education-oriented study programmes. We also teach the didactic disciplines connected to mathematics and participate in classes of mathematics for students of education at other faculties, namely, the Faculties of Science, Philosophy, and Physical Education and Sport, of the University. Members of the department devote themselves to mathematics, didactics of mathematics, history of mathematics, and of course, teaching. Our publications include lecture notes for universities, textbooks, and exercise books for secondary schools (especially grammar schools) and the second grade of primary schools. We also participate in the creation of various teaching aids including computer-assisted learning. The Department organizes regular professional and educational events for students and teachers; we are active in the whole-life education and at the University of the third age.
