Assistant professor position at the Department of Macromolecular Physics, in the field of theoretical physics.
ID of the position: 202209-AP2-KMF
Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant study branch. The candidate is expected to integrate within and extend the themes of research at the Department, including equilibrium and non-equilibrium thermodynamics and statistical physics, stochastic thermodynamics, quantum thermodynamics, Markovian and non-Markovian stochastic processes in physics and biology, active matter, and modelling of experiments on feedback control of Brownian and active Brownian particles.
It is assumed that the applicant has gained experience during stays at foreign research institutes, published his research in prestigious peer-reviewed and impacted journals, and has experience in managing grant projects. A positive attitude toward pedagogical work and the ability to combine pedagogical activities with scientific activity is required. We also require teaching ability in both the Czech and English languages.
Expected starting date is January 1, 2023, and it is negotiable.
Assistant Professor position at the Department of Geophysics, in the field of theoretical geophysics

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in geophysics or planetary science. The candidate is expected to integrate within and extend the themes of research at the Department, including modeling of thermal and deformational evolution of the Earth and planets, modeling the rotational dynamics of tidally deformed planetary bodies, evaluating of the viscoelastic response to surface and tidal loading and solution of the Navier-Stokes equation in applications to magmatic and water oceans. A track record of relevant research stays outside the country of origin is required. The applicant should present a list of relevant publications in impacted journals. A positive attitude towards pedagogical work, the ability to integrate research and teaching activities, as well as supervision of student theses and projects is expected. We require teaching ability in both Czech and English languages. Pedagogical education is an advantage.

Assistant Professor position at the Department of Surface and Plasma Science, in the field of physics of polymers with a specialization in electrochemistry

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in the field of polymer physics or a related. We require theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of hydrogen technologies, especially methods for preparing nanomaterials and studying their electrochemical properties using magnetron sputtering techniques, rotary disk electrodes (R / RDE), cyclic voltammetry, current limiting techniques, and potentiostatic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, including their testing in hydrogen fuel cells and water electrolysers. The advantage is experience with the development of measuring electronics, firmware, and software. It is assumed that the applicant has already published his research in this area in peer-reviewed journals. The applicant's positive attitude towards pedagogical work and the ability to combine pedagogical activities and scientific activity is required. The candidate must be able to lead lectures, exercises, and internships in Czech and English and to supervise student theses. Activity in the preparation of grant proposals will be expected.
