Academic Researcher position at the Department of Low-Temperature Physics, in the field of condensed matter physics.

ID of the position: 202209-VP2-KFNT1

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in the field of condensed matter physics, and practical experience with experiments on superfluidity and quantum hydrodynamics. The design and development of microfluidic/micromechanical devices using lithographic techniques and their practical use are welcome. It is expected that the applicant has already conducted research in this field of low-temperature research, documented by a publication record. The list of relevant publications should be added to the application. The applicant should be able to work independently with helium bath cryostats and dilution refrigerators and be familiar with low-temperature thermometry and standard low-temperature devices such as leak detectors, lock-in amplifiers, and temperature controllers.

In addition, the applicant should have a positive attitude towards pedagogical work and should be able to integrate research and teaching activities. The applicant should be capable of teaching lectures and exercises in Czech/Slovak and English as well as supervising student projects, Bachelor and Diploma theses.

Expected starting date is January 1, 2023, and it is negotiable.


Academic Researcher position at the Department of Low-Temperature Physics, in the field of physics of condensed matter and materials research.

ID of the position: 202209-VP2-KFNT2

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area. The applicant has to be experienced in the characterization of materials using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and should be skilled in sophisticated analysis and interpretation of NMR data. Experience with the investigation of organic materials will be considered an advantage. A track record of relevant research stays outside the country of origin is required. The applicant should present a list of relevant publications in impacted journals. A positive attitude towards pedagogical work, the ability to integrate research and teaching activities, as well as ability to supervise student theses and projects are expected. We require teaching ability in both the Czech and English languages. Activity in the preparation of grant proposals will be expected.

Academic Researcher part-time (40%) position at the Department of Physics Education in the field of physics education

ID of the position: 202209-VP2-KDF

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. title (or equivalent) in the field of physics education and deep knowledge of both Czech and international contexts of science education are required. It is expected that the applicant has already published his/her research in the field of physics education, focusing on physics curriculum. The list of relevant publications should be added to the application. We require the ability to combine scientific and pedagogical activities, including the supervision of bachelor and diploma theses. Fluent command of the Czech language is required for this position.

Expected starting date is January 1, 2023, and it is negotiable.
