announces opening of the following scientific post-doc positions
at the School of Computer Science with submission deadline February 28, 2020


  1. A researcher in the field of deep learning with applications to multimedia retrieval, big data analytics, natural language processing, or interpretability of machine learning methods in healthcare focused on medical image processing, at Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics, Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic, and Department of Software and Computer Science Education.

  2. A researcher in the field of software systems application and software development, with ties to selected research directions actively pursued within the relevant university departments - in particular methods for developing large scale and adaptive software, software verification and testing, software for big data processing (similarity search, applications in machine learning, multimedia databases, bioinformatics), or simulations of light-based prosthetic vision restoration at Department of Software Engineering, Department of Software and Computer Science Education, and Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems.

  3. A researcher in theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics with focus on computational complexity, parametrized complexity, optimization or algorithmic game theory, at Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Institute of Charles University.

The positions are funded by the Czech Operational Programme Research, Development and Education, project International mobility of research, technical and administrative staff at the Charles University. The funding is available for one year, starting preferably from September 1, 2020.

Qualification requirements: a researcher with Ph.D. in computer science or related fields, obtained not earlier than 7 years before the starting date of the position (this may be extended by maternity or parental leave, long-term illness, taking care of a family member for more than 90 days, and military service), who, during the last 3 years, worked outside of the Czech Republic for at least 2 years at the half-time (or more) research position or was for this period of time a Ph.D. student abroad. An appropriate publishing activity is required, i.e., in the past 3 years, at least 2 publication outputs of the type "article", "book", "book chapter", "letter" or "review", should be registered in Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases.
