Full Professor at the Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems, part-time position, specializing in software systems.

  • software testing and program analysis, formal verification,
  • system software, programming languages and compilers,
  • software optimization and performance evaluation,

Assistant Professor at the Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems

Candidates are required to possess expertise in one or more of the following topics:

  • software architectures, adaptive software, software modeling,
  • software testing and program analysis, formal verification,
  • system software, programming languages and compilers,
  • software optimization and performance evaluation,
  • distributed systems, cloud, edge, IOT/CPS.

The candidate is expected to participate in research, development and management of the current research projects within the department, and to work on expanding own research portfolio, including applying for research grants and developing industrial cooperation projects. The position includes a moderate teaching load. The candidate is expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and to teach introductory and advanced software systems courses in English (knowledge of the Czech language is not required).

The contract duration is three years. Potentially, the position is renewable; moreover, successful candidates are then encouraged to apply for promotion to the Associate Professor rank (habilitation) and to obtain a permanent position.

Assistant Professor at the Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic specializing in the field of artificial intelligence

The candidates are expected to have experience in at least one of the following areas: robotics, agent technologies, automated planning, knowledge representation, or machine learning. Basic background in formal methods (logic and/or statistics), software engineering and computer systems is a plus. Assistant Professor at the Department of Software Engineering specializing in data and software engineering

Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics, part-time or full-time position, in the area of theoretical computer science and optimization with preferred specialization in algorithmic game theory.

We are looking for candidates that would complement and/or strengthen existing research areas in our department (which currently include discrete mathematics, optimization, computational geometry and topology, graph theory, algorithms, computational complexity. A successful candidate is expected to pursue an active research program, teach advanced and introductory classes, and possibly supervise undergraduate and graduate students. The contract duration is three years. Potentially, the position is renewable; also, a habilitation (associate professor promotion) and a permanent position is a standard possibility (subject to a separate review process).

Assistant Professor in the Department of Software and Computer Science Education specializing in computer games development

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area, research and teaching experience in a relevant field, positive attitude towards pedagogical work, ability to integrate research and teaching activities as well as supervising student theses, publication record in impact journals, selective conferences or other media recognized by the community, experience from foreign academic or research institutions. The applicant has to be able to teach both in Czech and in English.

Lecturer at the Department of Software and Computer Science Education specializing in programming education and computer games development

Working activities: Pedagogical and creative work in the area. Teaching of esp. basic courses and supervising student theses and projects. Writing of teaching materials. Optionally, research and project work. A part-time contract is a possibility.

Qualification requirements: Mgr./MSc. or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area, experience in a relevant field, positive attitude towards pedagogical work, ability to supervise student theses and projects. Ability to teach in Czech is required; ability to teach in English is an advantage. Experience from foreign academic or research institutions and possibly a publication experience are an advantage.
