DMA

The PerkinElmer DMA 7e Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer allows for the measurement of elastic and viscoelastic properties of solid-state materials.

Basic Technical Parameters of the Instrument:

  • Measurement in the time domain (creep, uniform load growth, etc.)

  • Measurement in the frequency domain in the frequency range of 0.01 to 51 Hz

  • Force measurement range: 0.003 to  5 N (8 N in compression)

  • Deformation (displacement) measurement range: 0.1 μm to 15 mm

  • Deformation amplitude in the frequency domain: 0.2 μm to 1.3 mm

  • Ability to measure samples submerged in water in the temperature range of 0 to100 °C

Available Measuring Fixtures for Solid Samples:

  • Uniaxial Tension

  • Compression

  • Three-point Bending

Typical Sample Sizes for Measurement:

  • Thin discs with a diameter of 5  to 15 mm and a thickness of 0.5 to 5 mm

  • Prisms/Bars with a length of 12 to 15 mm, width of 0.1 to 3 cm, and thickness of 0.to 2 mm

  • Fibers with a length of 10 to 15 mm and a diameter of 0.01 to 1 mm

Temperature Measurement Range:

  • -150 °C to + 100 °C (when cooled with liquid nitrogen)

  • 20 °C až +500 °C (when cooled with an external chiller)
