Physics of materials - Post-doc position

Post-doc positions for researchers within 8 years from Ph.D. degree (maternity/paternity leave excluded) in the field of Materials Science at the Department of Physics of Materials. Advanced experimental abilities in the investigation of metallic materials are required - for instance electron microscopy, methods of thermal analysis, mechanical properties measurement, X-ray diffraction. Theoretical knowledge in physics of metallic materials. Experiences with titanium alloys and high entropy alloys are welcome.

We offer:

Post-doc position in materials science within the project Transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) in titanium alloys and high entropy alloys, headed by Dr. Josef Stráský.

We seek for: a researcher with Ph.D. in Physics of condensed matter, Materials science, Materials engineering or related fields. Practical experiences with the experimental characterization of metallic materials (e.g. transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, methods of thermal analysis and/or mechanical testing). Knowledge in the field of metallic materials, especially refractory metals, titanium alloys and/or high entropy alloys is welcome.

Please provide (preferably in one file): curriculum vitae, list of (selected) publications, your theoretical background, experiences with experimental work, an example of your own experimental work, and a brief motivation letter.
