We are a research group at the Department of Chemical Physics and Optics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.

Our research focuses on the interaction of light with matter, specifically exploring photosynthesis, quantum sensors and quantum dots.

Group News & Highlights

New Laboratory for Quantum Sensing

PRIMUS Grant (Starting 2026)

Tomáš Šikorský has been awarded a PRIMUS grant to establish a new quantum sensing laboratory at Charles University. The project focuses on quantum sensing with nanostructured diamonds in collaboration with Alexander Kromka (FZU).

Light-Driven Energy Conversion

GAČR Standard Grant (Starting 2026)

Jakub Pšenčík will lead a new project investigating biocomposite reactors. We aim to harness natural photosynthetic principles to develop efficient systems for converting light into usable energy.

Student Positions

We are hiring!

We are primarily looking for motivated Bachelor and Master students to join our new grant projects.
