Latest at the Department

On 23 June 2026, our students and recent graduates - Pavla Federičová, Iva Koblížková, Pavel Buřita, Matěj Maroušek, and Václav Kohout - participated in the National Student Showcase of Physics Education Projects held in Brno. Václav Kohout's master's thesis was awarded best in its category. We thank all participants for representing our department and congratulate Václav on this achievement.

The 16th Czech–Slovak Student Scientific Conference in Physics took place in Bratislava on 28–29 May 2026. Our department was represented by Eliška Bendová, Matěj Maroušek, and Pavel Buřita. Pavel Buřita was awarded third place in the General Physics and Physics Education category. We thank all three students for representing our department and congratulate Pavel on his excellent result.

We are part of the Support for the Development of Teaching Competencies project (PRoUK; registration no. CZ.02.02.XX/00/23_019/0008385). The project's main objective is to strengthen the coherence, comprehensiveness, and competency-based approach of initial teacher education at Charles University, while creating the conditions for higher-quality teacher preparation and the systematic transformation of pre-service teacher education.

Our department is a partner institution in the international V4+ project Ethical Generative AI in Higher Education - evidence, tools, and sustainable courses focused on the ethical use of generative AI in higher education. More information can be found HERE.
