announces opening of the following scientific postdoc positions

School of Physics


Postdoctoral position at the Department of Atmospheric Physics in the field of Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics with specialization on the computational fluid dynamics, turbulence and atmospheric boundary layer.

ID of the position: 202202-PD-KFA

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area. The applicant should be experienced in the computational fluid dynamics, turbulence study, atmospheric boundary layer and general meteorology. Experience with the large eddy simulation (LES) and models like ELMM, openFOAM or PALM is also expected. The applicant should present a list of relevant papers in impacted journals. Activity in preparation of grant proposals and regular publication activity will be expected. 

Expected starting date is July 1, 2022, and it is negotiable.


Postdoctoral position at the Department of Physics of Materials in the field of physics of materials and material research focused on the microstructure investigation of refractory complex concentrated alloys and Ti and Zr alloys prepared by physical metallurgy and additive manufacturing.

ID of the position: 202202-PD-KFM

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area. The applicant should have long-term experience in the microstructure investigation using electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) and electron diffraction incl. analytical methods as EBSD, EDS, WDS etc. Experience in employment of X- ray diffraction for microstructure investigation of materials prepared by powder metallurgy routes and additive manufacturing is also expected. The applicant is expected to publish regularly in highly ranked journals form the area of material research and material science. Activity in preparation of research project proposals will be requested. The presentation of an independent research project proposal already in the application will be highly appreciated.

Expected starting date is July 1, 2022, and it is negotiable.


COMMON REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTDOC POSITIONS

All applicants are required to have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the relevant field, achieved a maximum of eight years ago. This period does not include the period of maternity leave, parental leave, military service, periods of serious health complications, or periods of other similar legal long-term obstacles to work (e.g. time spent in long-term care for a family member/close person). Publication activity in the given field in periodicals recognized in the given field and further experience from stays at foreign workplaces are assumed.
