106. Department of Physics of Materials

Department of Physics of Materials participates in teaching of two bachelor programs: Physics, General physics and one master program: "Physics of Condensed and Macromolecular States", and in two programs of doctoral studies "Physics of condensed matter and material research" and "Physics of nanostructures".

The scientific research is focused on studies of the microstructure, mechanical and thermal properties of metals, alloys, intermetallic compounds and composite and ultrafine-grained materials. A large effort is devoted to complex investigation of physical aspects of plastic deformation and phase transformations in metallic materials.
