Assistant Professor at the Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems

Required expertise in one or more of the following topics:

  • software architectures, self-adaptation, software modeling
  • IoT/CPS and cloud/edge-cloud environments
  • evaluating and guaranteeing non-functional properties (performance, security)
  • statistical methods for reasoning about non-functional properties
  • performance engineering,
  • formal methods for software engineering,
  • software verification, testing, and program analysis,
  • programming languages.

The candidate is expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, to take care of day-to-day management of work on current research projects, and to actively perform research and development in the scope of these projects. The successful candidate is expected to teach advanced and introductory courses in English (knowledge of the Czech language is not required).

The contract duration is three years. Potentially, the position is renewable; moreover, successful candidates are then encouraged to apply for promotion to the Associate Professor rank (habilitation) and to obtain a permanent position. For more details ask <positions@d3s.mff.cuni.cz>.

Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, an international research record and postdoctoral experience, an excellent publication record or proven coding record in software development projects. Basic background in methods of big data analysis, machine learning, statistics, networks and hardware architectures is a plus.

Assistant Professor at the Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic specializing in the field of theoretical computer science

The candidates are expected to have specialized expertise in any of the following areas: mathematical logic, theory of formal languages, computational complexity or data structures. Qualification requirements: Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area, fluent command of written and spoken English, research and teaching experience in a relevant field, positive attitude towards pedagogical work, ability to integrate research and teaching activities as well as supervise student theses, excellent publication record in impact journals and/or proceedings of prestigious computer science conferences, experience from foreign academic or research institutions. Experience from collaboration with the industry and some command of Czech are welcome.
