Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University
announces opening of the following scientific post-doc positions
at the School of Computer Science
with submission deadline June 10, 2018

  1. A researcher in the field of deep learning with applications to multimedia retrieval, big data analytics or natural language processing at Department of Software Engineering and Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics.
  2. A researcher in the field of complex systems including mobile and/or autonomous systems (including self-driving vehicles and drones), possibly with cloud technologies at Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic and Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems.
  3. A researcher in the field of software systems including modern software architecture, performance engineering, software verification or computer graphics and rendering at Department of Software and Computer Science Education and Department of Distributed and Dependable Systems.
  4. A researcher in theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics at Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Institute of Charles University.

The positions are funded by the Czech Operational Programme Research, Development and Education No. CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/16_027/0008495. The funding is available for one year, starting preferably from September 1, 2018.

Qualification requirements: a researcher with Ph.D. in computer science or related fields, obtained not earlier than 7 years before the application deadline (this may be extended by maternity or parental leave, long-term illness, taking care of a family member for more than 90 days, and military service), who during the last 3 years worked outside of the Czech Republic for at least 2 years at the half-time (or more) research position, or was for this period of time a Ph.D. student abroad. An appropriate publishing activity is required, i.e., in the past 3 years, at least 2 publication outputs of the type “article”, “book”, “book chapter”, “letter” or “review”, should be registered in Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases.
