MFF UK Joins the Czech Neutron Association
The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, has become a collective member of the Czech Neutron Association (CNA), a professional association bringing together Czech researchers and students who use neutron radiation in their research. This step further strengthens the Faculty’s integration into both the national and European neutron research landscape.
The CNA systematically develops and coordinates the Czech neutron community, promotes the exchange of expertise, and enhances cooperation with leading European research infrastructures, including the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) in Garching, the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, and the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source in Didcot.
Membership in the CNA provides a stable framework for more intensive participation in international scientific activities in condensed matter physics, structural and magnetic studies of materials, polymer systems, and other complex materials. It also strengthens inter-institutional cooperation within the Czech Republic and broadens opportunities for student involvement in projects employing neutron scattering and imaging techniques.
Neutron-based methods represent a key experimental tool for investigating the structure, magnetic ordering, and dynamics of materials at atomic and mesoscopic scales. By joining the CNA, MFF UK reaffirms its long-term commitment to high-level experimental research and its active role within the European scientific community.
Further information about the Association is available at neutrons.cz
Individual registration to the CNA is significantly simplified for MFF UK staff and students thanks to the Faculty’s collective membership. Those interested in joining are encouraged to contact the MFF UK representative in the CNA, doc. RNDr. Milan Klicpera, Ph.D.
