Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy

Our department has access to an NMR spectrometer located at the Department of Low Temperature Physics (KFNT, Radio Frequency Spectroscopy Division). This is a Bruker Avance spectrometer with a magnetic field of 11.75 T (i.e., 500 MHz).

The instrument is equipped for measuring liquid samples (typically V = 0.6 ml) using the 1H, 13C, 15N, 19F nuclei and others. It can also measure solid samples under Magic Angle Spinning (MAS).

NMR spectroscopy is suitable for investigating the molecular structure of substances, molecular interactions, and dynamic processes.
