Letošní ceny za nejlepší loni vydané publikace si odnesli profesor Roman Barták za učebnici An Introduction to Constraint-Based Temporal Reasoning a Michal Johanis za monografii Smooth Analysis in Banach Spaces.

Roman Barták, Robert Morris, K. Brent Venable: An Introduction to Constraint-Based Temporal Reasoning
Morgan & Claypool Publishers
121 stran

ANOTACE: Solving challenging computational problems involving time has been a critical component in the development of artificial intelligence systems almost since the inception of the field. This book provides a concise introduction to the core computational elements of temporal reasoning for use in AI systems for planning and scheduling, as well as systems that extract temporal information from data. It presents a survey of temporal frameworks based on constraints, both qualitative and quantitative, as well as of major temporal consistency techniques. The book also introduces the reader to more recent extensions to the core model that allow AI systems to explicitly represent temporal preferences and temporal uncertainty.

This book is intended for students and researchers interested in constraint-based temporal reasoning. It provides a self-contained guide to the different representations of time, as well as examples of recent applications of time in AI systems.

The subject of infinite dimensional real higher smoothness is treatedherefor the first time in full detail, therefore this book may also serve as a reference book.

Petr Hájek, Michal Johanis: Smooth Analysis in Banach Spaces
De Gruyte
497 stran

ANOTACE: This bookis about the subject of higher smoothness in separable real Banach spaces. It brings together several angles of view on polynomials, both in finite and infinite setting. Also a rather thorough and systematic view of the more recent results, and the authors work is given. The book revolves around two main broad questions: What is the best smoothness of a given Banach space, and its structural consequences? How large is a supply of smooth functions in the sense of approximating continuous functions in the uniform topology, i.e. how does the Stone-Weierstrass theorem generalize into infinite dimension where measure and compactness are not available?

The subject of infinite dimensional real higher smoothness is treatedherefor the first time in full detail, therefore this book may also serve as a reference book.
