English Studies as of Academic Year 2011/2012

During their Bachelor study programme students are obliged to pass an exam in English. If they fail, they may resit the exam. Students register for the exam under the code NJAZ091 at the Study Department. The final exam is the same for students of all levels.

English language courses are listed as optional courses; and for each credit earned students will receive 1 credit into the faculty credit system as well as an additional 5 bonus points to be credited towards the exam within the internal KJP system.

Course requirements include: written tests (grammatical and lexical tests, listening tests, reading comprehension tests and ESP tests), class work and attendance at the classes.

KJP provides the students with a four-semester preparation programme for the exam: two teaching hours a week for higher levels – codes NJAZ070, 072, 074, 090 (C – intermediate, D – advanced) and/or four teaching hours a week for lower levels – codes NJAZ071, 073, 075, 089 (A – beginners, B – pre-intermediate) for the period of four semesters.
